Carol was wed to Robert (Bob) Zedlitz on Augin Reno, Nevada while on a trip to California and started their married lives together for the next 60 years. In her retirement she enjoyed playing slot machines at the casino, trips to Capitola with Rick, seeing Broadway musicals, and lunch dates with her friends.Ĭarol Mae Zedlitz was called home by our Heavenly Father on Monday after a valiant battle with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.Ĭarol was born in Toledo, Ohio and graduated from Devilbiss High School, earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from the Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. Her greatest fans called her “Grammy.” She loved every moment spent with her grandchildren Brayden, Zoe, Addison, and Emerson and never missed an opportunity to spoil them.Ĭathy worked as both a municipal and superior court clerk in Hayward and Pleasanton. When it came to Ryan and Lindsey, she never missed a sporting event, school field trip, or special moment in their lives. Cathy resided in Pleasanton for 38 years up until her death.Ĭathy devoted her time and attention to her family. They then moved to Pleasanton where they had their daughter Lindsey. The beginning of their marriage was spent in Union City where they welcomed their son Ryan. It was there where she fell in love with Rick and they got married on June 9, 1973. She spent her early years in Oakland and moved to San Leandro where she graduated from Pacific High School in 1971. He was a longtime member of SIR branch 101 in Livermore, and enjoyed the. He enjoyed fly fishing with friends, traveling with his wife Carol, relaxing in “his chair” with a good book and listening to music. Larry was extremely active and had numerous interests and hobbies. He worked at the Lab for 36 years, retiring in 1994. He spent most of his time at the lab working on hydrodynamic test diagnostics, specializing in ultra-high speed photography. In 1958 Larry moved west accepting a position at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory as a physicist. He attended Saint Olaf College where he was a stand-out on the track team, graduating in 1957. He was born in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, to Bert Shaw and Inger Mikelson. He was a beloved husband of 57 years to Carol, loving father to Kerry Miller (Mike) and Eric Shaw (Margaret), an adored Grandpa of Justin Miller, Conner Miller, Alexis Shaw, Sophia Shaw and a newly Great Grandpa to Addison Miller. Larry, a 52 year resident of Pleasanton, passed away peacefully on June 29th at home surrounded by his family after a brief battle with Leukemia.
